Property in Vancouver is at a premium these days, and that can make it feel like you do not have enough space to add something like a backyard pool. But that is not the case! No matter the size of your backyard, there is a pool design that can fit. Here are just a few of our favourite small pool designs to help inspire you…

This gorgeous pool shows that small can be relaxing. With a limited amount of space, you can still create your own private getaway. It is like being at a resort anytime you want!

2. The fitness pool

Small pools can still allow you to get a good workout. If you know you want your pool for fitness purposes, consider a lap pool. These take up very little space but give you all the water you need to stay fit.

3. Hot tub

Often, when people think about small pools, they think of hot tubs. If you are looking for a way to relax, a hot tub is an ideal way to do that. To make your tub feel extra cozy, you can surround your hot tub with gardens or – if you have space – a small seating area.

4. A pool with a view

An infinity pool can be the ideal way to make a small pool look bigger. Because infinity pools do not have clearly defined edges, they appear to continue out much farther than they actually do. Plus, with a view like this, who would be looking at the size of your pool?

5. Plunge pool

A plunge pool is a small pool built for the purpose of cooling off, wading, or even cold-water therapy, think of it as the cold version of a hot tub. Not only are plunge pools great for small spaces but they can also be customized to whatever depth you would prefer based on your needs.

6. The indoor/outdoor bath

If you have a tiny backyard and do not want to lose any space, this “pool” could be right for you. While it is technically inside, you can open it up to your backyard. This allows you to have an “outdoor pool” without losing any of your backyard space.

7. The spool

Want a spa and pool but do not have space for both? This is where a spool comes in! A spool is a combination mini-spa and pool area. A spool can be kept cool to use as a pool and warmed up to use as a spa. Spool’s also feature powerful jets that create a swirling current against which you can swim, making this style of small pool perfect for those with fitness goals.

If you do not have a big backyard, consider adding a pool to your deck. Adding a pool can bring a host of new ways to entertain your guests during the summer months. Just make sure you always have a pool cover for when it is not in use.

It is clear there are a variety of options when it comes to small pool designs, but what about when you have no backyard? There are choices available for that situation too!
